FAQs

01

What should I bring?

We provide water, ice, bait, fishing gear, and fun! We suggest you bring sunscreen, sunglasses, other soft drinks and/or beer (no liquor allowed), snacks (no bananas please) and wear comfortable clothes. Some clients like to bring a change of clothes for after the trip! If you are taking your fish home, please bring a cooler for your catch!

02

Can children come?

Children are welcome to fish with their parents! We recommend that children be at least 5 years old, and parents must bring a life jacket for their children. If conditions will be rough, the captain may recommend scheduling for another day.

03

What and why should I tip the deckhands?

The crew at Geaux Fisch Charters works very hard to make your trip a wonderful experience! There is preparation before you fish to get ice, bait, etc. and the boat will be very clean! When you are fishing, they will help you with technique, bait, etc. They will also clean your catch and get it ready for you to take home and enjoy! Just as you tip a server at a restaurant, the crew is providing great service to you and most of their income comes from tips. Please show your appreciation to them for their hard work. Tips are typically 20% of the trip cost.

04

How do I get to the Geaux Fisch?

From I 45 south, exit Harborside Drive, turn left at Holiday Drive and enter the parking lot for the Galveston Yacht Basin. The docks are marked by letters. The second doc in is B dock. Enter through the gate and walk down to slip B30 where the Geaux Fisch crew will greet you!
